Did You Make a New Year's Resolution to Lose Weight?

When you sat down this year to think about and write out your New Year's Resolutions, did the ever-so-famous, "lose weight" make it onto your list? If it did, you should consider these products. I personally have used Slim&Sassy and LOVED it. I felt so good while I used it and it really helped me control those nasty cravings I get way to often for candy and cookies and pop. doTERRA also just came out with another product called TrimShakes. You can get it in Vanilla or Chocolate. These shake mixes contain the patented ingredient EssentraTrim which helps in managing the stress hormone cortisol that goes along with fat storage. The Slim&Sassy is what you drink with your water and then the shakes are used to replace at least one meal per day. If you want to read a little more about it, CLICK HERE! If you are interested in getting anything ordered or even how to incorporate these products into your life, feel free to comment, call, text or email me! doTERRA is all about good health that is natural and safe and so I really believe these will be awesome for anyone who tries them!

A Daily Routine

How many of you love a routine? If you are anything like me or my kids, we love having a routine. Here is a routine that our lovely Dr. David Hill came up with (Dr. Hill is one of the heads of the company and is a world-renowned doctor):

Dr. Hill's Daily Routine

Dr. David Hill presented this simple routine using essential oils to improve every day for every one.   It is a way to begin to daily experience and receive the immediate  benefit of using doTERRA essential oils:
·  Apply Peppermint and Frankincense to the soles of your feet when you awaken.  This will get you fully awake, energized, and ready for your day.

·   Diffuse Citrus Bliss or a blend of any of the other doTERRA citrus oils mixed with Purify or OnGuard.  This will lighten your mood and protect your home from unwanted pathogens.

·   Apply Serenity to the back of your neck and temples midday to relieve stress.  Also use anytime during the day if you are feeling stressed.

·  Add Peppermint and Lemon to water during the day for gently detoxifying your body.

·  Apply Lavender to bottom of your feet at night to encourage a full restful night of sleep or to alleviate insomnia.

I found this information on www.everythingessential.me which is a huge helpful site and you all should make sure you keep bookmarked on your computer! I visit it quite often! :)

Ear Aches and Give Aways!

Just a reminder: Don't forget about the give away that ends on Valentine's Day!! Spread the word and better give a ways will come! :)
I feel like up until this point, I've only had to use the oils for minor things. Tummy aches here, headaches there. Nothing too serious. Well, yesterday, just after lunch, my 3 yr old son, Aaron told me that his ear hurt. Oh great! We're just all getting over sicknesses, not something else! He has had a congested cough a little bit here and there and some snuffles, nothing too major. When he said those words though, my heart sank. He is the only one of my kids to get ear infections and I hate seeing him in pain! So, immediately we got our oils out. I grabbed: Basil, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Melaleuca and Lavender. *My kids love using oils and so when he told me his ear hurt, he also added he needed some oils. Just a side note! :) * I quickly read up on some regiments and we got started. You don't ever want to pour the essential oils right into the ear. So I put a drop of Basil and Melaleuca on a Q-Tip and just gently stuck it inside his ear, just far enough for it to sit there by itself. Then I rubbed Frankincense and Grapefruit on the outside of his ear and behind it. He was literally screaming in pain and so this all took some time to get done because he wouldn't let me near his ear. He wanted me to just pour them into his ear and take the pain away. He is so used to being cured once I put the oils on him, he had a hard time understanding why it was still hurting and why I couldn't just pour it in his ear. I got a warm washcloth folded and tried to get him to lay down with it on his ear. I also rubbed a drop of Frankincense and Lavender on his feet and one drop of Frankincense and Breathe on his chest. Eventually I got him laid down on the couch cuddled up with me. Periodically, about every hour or so, I would do the same thing with the oils. By about 4:30pm, he finally fell asleep. He woke up about 5:45pm and didn't seem to be in as much pain. He looked like he didn't feel very good, but didn't say anything about his ear. We had dinner and put him in a nice warm bath. When he got out, I put all the oils again and gave him a little foot massage with the oils and lotion. We talked about his ear and he let me know it still hurt but not as bad. So he went to bed pretty easy about 8:30pm after running around with Piper, his little sister (so obviously he is feeling a little better!). This morning, I ask him how his ear was feeling, if it hurt at all. He told me "No, I'm fine." and continued to play with his dinosaurs.
He went from literally not being able to function because of the pain he was feeling, to being just fine in a matter of 24 hours! At one point, I told him if he doesn't feel better, maybe we'd go to the doctor. He quickly let me know that he didn't NOT want to go to the doctor, only wanted to use oils!
I will continue the regiment today and maybe tomorrow to make sure we've cleared it up.
Let me know if you have any questions about what I did here. I love using essential oils and love that my kids will cooperate (mostly!) and enjoy using them as well. It gives us moments to bond when I'm rubbing their feet or tummy and really makes me feel like I can take care of them and that they trust me to take care of them!

A Give Away!!

I think it is time for a give away! Who doesn't like free stuff??
I am starting out small. So please, don't fret, bigger give aways will come in the future! :)
For this time, I'm giving away a card of the reflex points on your hands and feet. It is the size of your debit card so you can carry it right there in your wallet, or in your purse with your oils! I love it and use it often. In fact, I'll usually tell my hubby where it hurts, hand him the card and oils and let him massage my feet or hands for me.

To take part in the give-away, you must do the following....
1- If you aren't already, become a follower on this blog.
2- Leave a comment on this blog post telling me that you are a follower. It is as simple as that!!! :)
The deadline is Valentine's Day, Monday, February 14th! :)

My Honest Opinion

Ok, so since having had been so sick this last week, I decided that this would be a great time to put oils/medicine to the test. I have stopped using medicines in my house and have loved it. But I wanted to be able to post a for sure honest opinion to you all that the oils really help out more than medicine, in most cases, in my experience. Now please remember, I am not an expert or a doctor one bit. I just know what I know because of my own experiences. You may all feel differently, which is just fine!!  :)
Sinus infections really are painful. I don't know whether mine was just really bad or if they really all are that painful, but I was in pain this last week! I literally sat on the couch and just cried because I was in so much pain and had no idea how to relieve any pain or pressure from my head. One evening, I made the desperate attempt and took some Tylenol an hour or two before I went to bed. My honest opinion, it did nothing. It didn't relieve any pressure in my head, it didn't help me sleep any better, nothing. So, maybe for others it works great, but for me, I'll stick with my oils. Then, on Sunday, I wanted to try using something to dry up my sinus' a little while I went to church so I wasn't a leaky faucet the whole time, sniffing and snuffing away. So, I took a little bit of benadryl because I know that it can be used for that. Well, an hour into church, I felt it hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't keep my eyes open! I know that Benadryl can make you sleepy, I guess I was just hopeful that I'd be just fine. Because I couldn't go to sleep, I felt even more miserable. And no, my faucet never turned off. Making me the one in the back of the room wiping my nose every two minutes in between coughing periodically. I got home from church and took a little nap before I made dinner. I woke up and felt like a truck had hit me! Making me feel worse than I did before!! Grrr!! So, here is my final analysis:
I have decided that DoTERRA essential oils are for me. I will no longer use medicine because in my opinion, it doesn't help me and I felt so much healthier using my oils. I literally could feel my sinus infection moving up and out of my body. Starting in my cheek, then it moved to my eye, then my nose. Now I am left with just a little runny nose. No pressure. No headaches. I'm still tired but I am 7 months along, with 3 other little kids. I loved my experience with using my oils and will continue to stick with them! :)
What is your opinion of my experience?

What Can You Do In 20 Minutes??

Did you know that when you put an essential oil on the bottom of your feet, it only takes 20 minutes for it to travel up your body and back down again, making it able to reach your whole body? 20 minutes!!! Our bodies are amazing!

Sinus Infection and the Pain That Comes With It

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back here! I've been so sick the last couple weeks and I finally feel like it is coming to an end. I did want to share with you my natural regiment that I have been using to get rid of all of the different symptoms I've been feeling. Hopefully it gives you some ideas about what you can do with your oils or even get you interested in learning more about essential oils.
I woke up with a cough one morning about 2 weeks ago. Periodically I would get a runny nose or a sore throat, but it was mostly a cough. It started out dry but started moving down and becoming more congested! So I used a combination of DoTERRA's Breathe blend, and OnGuard. Breathe is a respiratory blend and OnGuard is great at killing germs. Then, this last Tuesday morning, I woke up with a toothache. I'm thinking, on wonderful! I have needed to make myself get to the dentist anyways for a good teeth cleaning. I remember hearing that Clove is great for toothaches and I happened to have some on hand. I put it on my tooth and it was so weird! It has a numbing effect. By the afternoon though, the pain had spread up into my cheek and eye. So I switched my dentist appointment from the next monday, to the next day, Wednesday. Wednesday morning, I get to the dentist. They told me that the pain I'm feeling is too much pain to be caused by the teeny cavity that is in the tooth that is hurting. The pain is actually from a sinus infection and since I am pregnant, there really isn't much I can do so I just have to deal with the pain. DAH!!! Then I told them I have a bump on my cheek that is pretty painful as well and they told me it is a blocked salivary gland. Again, there isn't anything I can do about it and I have to let it run its course. So they fixed a different cavity and I made another appt to fix the rest of my teeth. (Yes, I have 3 more small cavities to fix. Yes, I'm going to be adding oils to my teeth cleaning daily routine, but that will be another post!) I get home on Wednesday and I am in so much pain!!! I am miserable! I am hurting so bad in my face that it made me nauseous and I physically couldn't function well. I have never had this kind of pain before. I've had 3 kids, but contractions aren't constant pain. This consistent pain in my mouth was HORRIBLE!! So, I start researching what to do with my oils. I read the Breathe and Eucalyptus are great for sinus infections. Wonderful, I have those oils in my stash. So I pull them out and start using them about 4-6 times a day. I rubbed Eucalyptus on my nose and down into my left cheek (my infection was only on the left side and I only had pain on the left side). Then I would put Breathe on my top lip as well as one drop in my hands. I'd cup my hands over my nose and take a few deep breaths. This helped clear my nasal passage ways so it wasn't stuffy. Then, I'd put a drop of Eucalyptus and a drop of either Melaleuca or OnGuard on a Q-tip and stick it halfway up my left nostril and take a few deep breaths. This is to help kill the infection. Within the first day of doing this, I felt the pain move from my cheek to my eye. Although it was very painful, it gave me hope because that meant the infection was being moved and hopefully moving out. The next day, I'd do it all over again, same thing. The pain was throbbing so hard in my eye, I looked at my oils and tried to figure out what to use. So, as I stated earlier, WHEN IN DOUBT, USE LAVENDER!! So I put lavender around my eye and I completely felt a difference. When it seemed to painful to move, I'd also put a drop or two of Lavender in a hot bath and just relax. This also helped me feel better and get some sleep. Today, is my third day doing this regiment. I woke up this morning feeling SOOOO much better! The pain/pressure is almost gone from my head and my nose is running. Good sign! The infection is moving out and I feel like I can function without laying on the couch with a hot bean bag on my face! :)
I have loved having DoTERRA's essential oils in my life. They have made a huge difference for me and my family's health and I can't imagine going back to our lives before we started using the oils. Please feel free to post comments and questions and I promise to answer back asap!!! Help me get this blog advertised and get more followers so we can spread the word that going natural is the way to go!! :)
